You’ve probably heard about how other entrepreneurs are using live video. You want to start producing your own live streams to start promoting your product or service, but you’re not sure whether it’s right for you. In this blog post, we’d like to inspire and provide you with tips from successful entrepreneurs who are rocking it.

It allows the real you to surface and respond to what happens next. So relax and learn to go with the flow. It doesn’t have to be perfect. You are allowed to be flawed.”
Comm is an author, speaker, and entrepreneur. Before becoming an internet marketer, he had a career in radio. He also runs a popular Facebook Group called Live Video Marketing Mastermind. He recently published an article on INC.com titled, “Ten Marketers Who Are Crushing It With Live Video.” The article features our very own hosts including, Owen Hemsath, Molly Mahoney, and Jeff Adams.

Guy Kawasaki, known to many as a marketing genius, invests a lot in video marketing, including Facebook Live. He was also one of the first influencers to use Facebook Live. On one of his live videos on his Facebook Page, he recommends using a gimbal from Ikan if you want to capture a more stable footage with your phone.

Think of your live streams as a TV series where you show a teaser of what’s coming in the next episode. For instance, you can announce a giveaway, a special guest, or trivia game. This will keep people coming back for more!

Mari Smith recommends that you divide your show’s stats into two: Proxy and Business Metrics.
Proxy: Metrics that allow you to understand how you’re show is doing, but don’t necessarily affect your business.
Proxy metrics is quite easier to track, as it’s readily available on Facebook, YouTube, Periscope, or whichever platform you’re using. However, it’s important to focus on the metrics that matter to you. Are you focusing on getting more engagement? Or are you trying to reach as many people as you can?
Business: Metrics that give you an indication that your show is directly affecting your business.
You have to understand that your live video marketing efforts affect your business’ bottom line. Are you using live video to get more traffic to your website? If yes, then you need to focus on the link clicks you get after each live.
Are you trying to get more leads? Do you have a setup that allows you to know exactly how many leads do you get from each live stream? For the BeLive team, we use Unbounce to create a separate landing page in each of our shows. That way we know exactly how many leads we captured (people who gave us their email) and the number of sign ups. Having data on leads and sign ups allows us to optimize our shows.

Using tools like ManyChat allows you to easily track leads by using specific keywords to generate more comments from the viewers. When a viewer comments a specific keyword, they will get subscribed to the Messenger bot. Once they are subscribed, you can continue the engagement after the live stream and ask them to take more actions, such as watching the replay, visiting your website, or signing up for your newsletter.
