Tell us something about you or your show that you’d like to people know about.
Hey! I’m Graham Hoffman, the founder behind Airsoft Nation: a social network for the hobby known as ‘Airsoft’, something that is very similar to Paint-balling.
Each week I run a live podcast on Facebook Live interviewing guests, whether that’s businesses, influencers or community members about topics surrounding the world of Airsoft.
We then re-purpose that video into an audio format and put accompanying blog posts on the website for users to catch -up with.
Why did you go into video marketing or live streaming?
No one has done a live talk show in this hobby, and it was a way for me to reach bigger influencers in the industry. Plus I didn’t want to do editing!
Truthfully, live sessions are a lot easier once you get the swing of things — and it takes 20% of the time.
What has been the biggest impact of live streaming in your life?
Firstly, I’ve grown to love live streaming — no longer being quiet and shy, but instead embracing and have huge amounts of fun with it. It’s made me a lot more confident as a person.
In terms of professionally, I’ve focused on providing a better, more structured stream that’s built me into having a reputation as ‘The Live Stream Guy’ in my industry.
Amazingly, I’m speaking to influencers who have 400,000+ Subscribers, while I’m on a channel with less than 10k. This is giving me authority by association, something that is incredibly powerful.
How has BeLive as a platform helped you?
For me there are 3 key points that has kept me with BeLive and away from other (potentially more complex) live streaming platforms.
- Bringing the Guests in without any technical know how. This was always a hard feature for other services. Now, my guests, they click a link and are in the live stream just seconds later. More importantly, if they do disconnect — it doesn’t mess up my stream layouts or overlays.
Results: All my guests walk away from a stream having a great user experience!
2. Chat Interaction: The key ingredient of Live Streaming is audience participation. BeLive not only shows the chat while you’re live (not possible with other solutions), but being able to highlight a question, or bring up a loyal follower launches engagement through the roof.
Results: All my audience get to be involved with the show, rather than treating it like a one-way conversation.
3. Branding From color schemes to overlays; it’s these feature that improves your appearance from an amateur vlogger, into an online talkshow Host. Using Overlays and Agendas helps us convey the stream topics, our show sponsors and puts a purpose built the brand around the show making the stream look more professional.
Results: Sponsors and Businesses reach out to sponsor a credible and professional streamer.
How are you promoting your product or service on your BeLive shows?
I promote my website, competitions and show sponsors during segments. Beyond that, it’s a community focused stream and there aren’t any ‘services for sale’ (at least right now)
Anything else you’d like to share on how BeLive has helped your business?
The BeLive community pushes me to improve; the BeLive Weekly live stream made me aspire to put on a better show.
