BeLiver Feature, Lynn Bardowski: Using Live Video for Direct Sales

Tell us something about you or your show that you’d like to people know about.

Lynn Bardowski, founder at Million Dollar Party Girl. My show is called Social Girl LIVE and it’s about helping direct sellers turn their posts into profits. I broadcast every Wednesday at 9pm ET and just completed my 77th episode.

Whoa! Congratulations! So, can you tell us why you got into video marketing or live streaming?

I launched my Youtube channel about six years ago but recorded video never felt authentic. Then, I started live streaming when Periscope launched and quickly saw the power of live video.

It felt more natural and I loved being able to have two-way conversations with viewers real time. After my first broadcast, I was hooked! Now I repurpose all my live videos and edit them for my YouTube subscribers.

What has been the biggest impact of live streaming in your life?

Live streaming quickly helped me build my brand at warp speed.

Live streaming has had a huge impact on my life and business, starting back in 2011 when I used ustream to broadcast live events for my direct sales team. I had no idea what I was doing and the broadcast was far from perfect, but I could see that being able to broadcast a live training event was key to expanding my business beyond my backyard.

Then, when I retired as a top direct sales leader and launched my speaking and consulting business in 2017, live streaming quickly helped me build my brand at warp speed. I quickly became recognized as an authority for my niche and had corporate clients calling me to keynote a conference, or provide online training for their sales team.

Most importantly, when I “go LIVE” I’m able to interact and engage with my tribe. It’s really about the relationships I’ve built and the impact I can have on others. I’m probably addicted to it. Haha.

How has BeLive as a platform helped you?

BeLive is pretty awesome! It’s easy to use and affordable which makes it duplicatable for my community. Scheduling broadcasts helps me get the word out = more live viewers.

And Belive is always adding new features which helps me stay on the cutting edge of what’s new.

You also have an amazing support team and Facebook community! When Facebook deleted one of my most viewed broadcasts (100+ shares!) your team was able to save the day and retrieve the video.

How are you promoting your product or service on your BeLive shows?

My products are all service based so interviews with clients and experts are the easiest way to talk about what I do, and how I can help others. I give (and give some more) valuable content every week, then during my broadcast I include calls-to-action and invite viewers who need more help to take the next step with me.

Whether I’m promoting my membership program or an online course I always focus on providing value first, so it never feels “salesy” to me or to my audience. I also use a chat bot with a CTA (call-to-action) to comment with a specific word, which is key to converting viewers to clients.

How many times do you use BeLive to promote your business/organization?

I go LIVE via BeLive at least once a week. January 2019 is my two-year BeLive-versary and I’ve held 171 live broadcasts with 12,992 comments (as of the end of 2018).

Which BeLive feature do you think has helped you achieved the results for your business?

It’s hard to pick my favorite feature because they all work together to help me produce a live show that looks and sounds great — without being super techie. Screen sharing and inviting a panel of guest speakers helps me add more value and show how-tos, and the branding feature helps me build a consistent brand message.
